Applications for Personality and Behavioural Profiling

Personality and behavioural profiling in the work place provides an accurate insight into how people behave at work.

Businesses can use behavioural profiling to gain a greater level of certainty in their recruitment and development programmes, and the focus to boost their people management capabilities and staff retention initiatives.  HR4Business utilises several personality and behavioural profiling tools such as:

DISC Behavioural Profile

DISCis a behavioural profiling tool used frequently during the recruitment and development process to build a description of an individual’s typical behaviours, and uses that to provide an insight into their likely motivations, and approach to life and work.

DISC can also be utilised as a team building exercise, whereby each employee is profiled individually and provided feedback, initially serving as a self-awareness tool. From there, a team session is conducted focussing on the make-up of behavioural styles within the team and what this means in terms of effectiveness, productivity, quality, relationships etc.

The report derived provides a profile on the individual with specific levels in the four factors of DISC – Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance.

Myers Briggs

Myers Briggs Type Indicator is a personality profiling instrument for measuring a person’s preferences, using four basic scales with opposite poles. The four scales are: (1) extraversion / introversion, (2) sensate / intuitive, (3) thinking / feeling, and (4) judging / perceiving.  The various combinations of these preferences result in 16 personality types.

Myers Briggs can be used for team building days so that teams gain insight into differing types and it can also be used to assist individuals with career coaching as a report can be produced which discusses individuals strengths, interests and preferences.
